KPS has embarked on an exciting literary journey with the introduction of “The Big Read” initiative, aimed at promoting a deep appreciation for literature among students and staff alike.

The initiative underscores the school’s commitment to promoting literacy and cultivating critical thinking by dedicating regular time to reading during tutor sessions. It aims to instill a lifelong love for literature, inviting students to kick off the school day by immersing themselves in a diverse range of literary works.

From timeless classics like Jane Austen’s “Emma” to modern masterpieces such as Patrick Ness’ “Chaos Walking” series, the selections offer students the opportunity to delve into different themes, styles, and eras of literature, enriching their reading experience.

Teachers are also encouraged to embark on this collective reading journey, underscoring the central purpose of tutor time which is to provide individualised support to students as they move up through the school and strengthen the essential partnership between students and staff.

The Big Read is not just about reading—it is about fostering a culture of literary exploration and dialogue within our school community and igniting a passion that will transcend the classroom.
