Duke of Edinburgh Award- from home!

Duke of Edinburgh Award- from home!

For the last two weeks of this academic year, our Year 7 & 8 students have the new and exciting opportunity to be involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Award while working remotely at home. Whilst the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme is officially open to students from Year 9 and upwards, these activities are a brilliant taster for our students to prepare them for the amazing opportunities which await!

All subject areas have designed creative and rewarding tasks for them to get involved with which reflect the curriculum as well as core principles from the Award scheme.

Challenges include…

  • Writing an expedition diary and creating a photo log: English and Creative Arts
    • Handy tip: follow this diagram to include key parts in your diary
    •
  • Time capsule making and creating a shadow puppetry lesson for a nature/adventure fairy tale: English
  • Map drawing and route planning before designing an ideal camping location: Geography
