KPS’s debate team face Chelsea Independent College

On Wednesday 25^th April, KPS’s debating team visited Chelsea Independent College to debate the motion ‘This House Would Subsidise the Arts”. The toss of a coin decided that Emma Chen, Melody Chi and Siri Deva Kumar would face the challenge of arguing against the motion. A detailed and insightful debate ensued with both sides demonstrating impressive understanding of the cultural value of art and the economic issues that allow the creative industries to thrive. After a round of well-informed speeches from the floor, the matter was put to a vote and the motion was carried. We congratulate all involved for their contributions to a fair and illuminating contest.
