Team GB Olympian Talk and Coaching at KPS

International rugby player, Amy Wilson-Hardy, took to the stage to speak to Kensington Park Students about her personal and professional life and how it has involved success in women’s rugby. Amy, a Bath University graduate and England rugby player, representing her country at two World Cups, a Six Nations and the Commonwealth Games shared with us how she found her way into rugby and how she managed to balance completing an Engineering degree and Olympic competition at the same time. She also spoke about the importance of family and always being kind, while enjoying all wins – big or small in life. After the whole school presentation, we had a short Q & A which opened the floor to questions involving thoughts and feeling going into big competitions and sports psychology techniques that Amy uses.

Following the assembly, they Year 9 students were lucky enough to have a rugby session with Amy who went through passing techniques and drills, as well as small game like situations for the students to practice attacking and defending using footwork to be successful.

It was a brilliant morning that both students and staff very much enjoyed and kicked off the start to 2020 and the rugby term off to a fantastic start!
