Thriving beyond the classroom: KPS co- curricular programme

Our extensive co-curricular programme is at the heart of life at Kensington Park School Lower School. Students engage in a variety of sports and physical activities during their PE lessons and Games sessions, but can also explore their sporting and other interests at lunchtimes and after school.

Whether opening students’ eyes to something new or indulging life-long passions, the variety of clubs and activities on offer at Kensington Park School gives students the chance to come together and explore their shared interests.

We recognise that learning takes place in a variety of environments and settings outside of the classroom, developing our students' skills for their careers and futures. Developing communication, entrepreneurial, and co-curricular skills is crucial to our students' development. Having an opportunity to connect our life, cultural, curricular and co-curricular experiences enables our students to think critically, make important connections, and think beyond their own spheres.

Our co-curricular club schedule is available at lunchtimes and after school, with a small number of clubs on offer before school as well.

This term we have over 30 clubs available, including Eton Fives, Jazz Club, Space & Astronomy Club and so much more. There's something to suit every individual student's passion.

In our Sixth Form, students have a great range of co-curricular options to choose from, with the selection of clubs on offer changing each term. All students must attend at least one club and can make suggestions on which clubs they would be interested in to the Student Council.

The Student Council is led by students themselves, with a designated School Captain and Vice-Captain. The Council meets every fortnight to discuss points raised by the sixth form community and plan yearly calendar events, including fundraisers and activities led by KPS CAN, our charity and sustainability group, and student-led assemblies at the Lower School.

All Sixth Form students have membership to Imperial College’s Ethos Sports Centre, one of the best sporting facilities in central London located just a short walk away from the Sixth Form. Outside of lessons, students can enjoy a swim in Ethos’s 25-metre pool (complete with sauna, steam room and spa pool) and work out in the Energia gym. This is one of the largest gyms in the capital with state-of-the art equipment including running, cycling and rowing machines, a weights area, and a core zone with physiotherapy balls and yoga mats.
