Workshops on Mental Health and Well-being

Workshops on Mental Health and Well-being

Report written by Sonya Galouzis, Head of PSHE and Head of AEP Sixth Form

On Wednesday 22nd January in the afternoon, four Imperial second year medical students ran a workshop for our sixth form students on Mental Health awareness, covering such issues as depression and anxiety, addiction, eating disorders and self harm. The Imperial students volunteered to do this, having completed a course with 'Open Minds', in fact KPS sixth form was their first workshop placement. It was a thought provoking workshop, where students played out scenarios, watched short videos on the topics and interacted with the workshop leaders. Our students particularly liked being able to ask them what it was like being Imperial University students in a fun Q&A session at the end. The workshop acted s a springboard for discussion and I look forward to welcoming more workshops from Imperial students in the future.
