With the start of a new term, Kensington Park School is delighted to welcome new Headmaster, Mr Stephen Mellor, who will assume the role from 1st September 2022.

Along with all of the KPS team, Mr Mellor would like to thank his predecessor, Mr Middleton, who is stepping down after nearly 2 years in post, for the enormous contribution he has made to the KPS community, and for serving the school so diligently as it has evolved and grown. We wish him the very best of luck with his next chapter!

Mr Mellor became involved with Kensington Park School in 2017 as part of the KPS Advisory Board, and served as Interim Headmaster for the Autumn term 2020. He brings with him a wealth of experience in schools leadership, having lead several educational establishments in both the state and private sectors, and taken up executive roles for two local authorities, ensuring educational provision for children in a variety of settings. In addition to his current role at KPS, Stephen is Chair of Governors of an
Independent Girls’ school, which has just undergone an excellent inspection from ISI.

Stephen is passionate about developing students’ character, leadership, and emotional intelligence, and in building warm relationships between students, their parents, and the school.

“I feel extremely honoured and privileged to have been chosen to continue to build upon the success the school has already achieved. I have invested a significant amount of time, passion and endeavour in the school since its conception, and I am very much aware of the responsibility that my staff and I have in ensuring that the highest standard of teaching and learning is achieved. I strongly believe in providing students with exciting, creative, and meaningful learning experiences, which build their enthusiasm for learning and help them to grow and develop positively in a variety of ways. Every student matters, every moment counts."
Mr Mellor, Headmaster of KPS, September 2022.

We look forward to the term ahead and to continuing our journey under Mr Mellor's leadership!
