Last week, our Mandarin students in Y8 & Y10 participated in a school trip to the Chinese Embassy for International Chinese Language Day, hosted by the Centre for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) with six others participating secondary schools across the UK.

Nearly 100 pupils studying Mandarin were treated to an afternoon full of traditional dancing, sword fighting and impressive Mandarin speeches from participating students. The students could also choose from various activities, including decorating fans and masks, painting blossom trees and making flowers out of pipe cleaners.

The KPS languages department offers several notable events for students throughout the year, including workshops, themed culture weeks, and exciting trips both within the UK and abroad. For more information about the department, get in touch with us at
