Teacher of English

English is a subject that gives people the opportunity and space to be imaginative. The way in which words on a page can shape, inspire and enthuse individuals is perhaps my greatest motivation in becoming a teacher of the subject. This love of English began during my schooling at Wellington School, and continued through to my time at the University of Leeds, where I studied English and Social Policy and was fortunate to have access to significant literary expertise. Before joining KPS I worked as a teacher, PGCE Mentor and KS3 Co-ordinator.

My favourite texts include Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks, Shakespeare’s Macbeth and Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. Beyond the classroom, I enjoy playing tennis weekly and am the captain of a team in a North London Tennis League. Though raised in the UK, my family are from the island of Malta in the Mediterranean and I can speak the Maltese language.
