Isabella Kallan

Teacher of Modern Languages

E:

Growing up in a bilingual family and living in four different countries–Denmark, Spain, France and England–gave me the opportunity not only to immerse myself in an array of diverse cultures and customs but also to fuel my linguistic hunger. This fountain of knowledge has paved my way to teaching as I feel a strong compulsion to share my enthusiasm with others.

My zeal for languages led me to undertake a bachelor’s degree in French and Hispanic Studies at King’s College London. There I had the opportunity to spend a year abroad in France, where I had my first experience of teaching professionally. During that year I worked for the British Council as a language assistant where I taught English in two French high schools. Since then, I have completed a PGCE at the University of Cambridge specialising in language teaching.

Outside of school, I enjoy going to my home town tucked away in the Pyrenean mountains, where I hike, ski, paint and eat lots of delicious Spanish food.
