James Smith

Teacher of Science

As a pupil myself at Bancroft's in Essex, I always made the most of opportunities such as the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, ski trips and inter-house competitions. I later graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in Zoology where I was also fortunate enough to work with Nottingham University Television Station. Following graduation, I took part in the two-year TeachFirst programme where I shared my passion for science with pupils in Lincolnshire.

As a teacher I am very much focused on inspiring pupils by allowing them to apply context to content and demonstrate where application of science has had a beneficial impact on society.

Outside of the classroom I have a passion for travel as well as spending time with my family and our dog Macy.
