Maria-Giulia Franzoni

Teacher of Classics

E:

I first studied classics in my hometown’s “Liceo Classico” (secondary school), then at university in Bologna and Edinburgh before obtaining my PhD in Classics in 2017 at the University of St Andrews – during which I had the chance to teach Greek to inspiring students at the local independent school, St Leonards. Before joining KPS, I worked as an editor for Mondadori Education (Milan), editing and producing material for high-school textbooks in the humanities.

I have wanted to teach classics ever since, as a child, my Grandpa read the Odyssey to me; nothing seemed as wonderful to me as getting to share such brilliant words and stories. In my spare time, I listen to music (I trained as a musician before realising classics was my calling!), do yoga, and cook - I have worked as a baker and I am now known to produce an inordinate amount of cakes and scones, definitely too many for my partner, my cat and me.
