Sam Gosden

Deputy Head (Lower School)

E:

I am the Deputy Head (Lower School) at Kensington Park School. My background is musical, playing the piano, organ, saxophone and recently learning the double bass. I have a love for choral directing which was influenced by my childhood experience as a chorister and my degree in music from the University of Surrey. I have directed many choirs and ensembles performing all over the world.

Previous roles have included Director of Music and Head of Digital Strategy at Newland House School.

My digital journey in schools has inspired me to develop an approach to teaching which is both responsive and real-time, encouraging pupils to use technology to enhance creativity, critical thinking and collaboration inside and outside the classroom. I believe in giving pupils a toolkit with which to learn, which mirrors their future workplace.

Outside school and on the way to work, I am a keen cyclist, so please watch out for me on the roads! I love to cook, and my culinary skills have been influenced by Malaysian cuisine and that of the far east where I have extended family and have travelled widely.
