Sonya Galouzis

Teacher of Drama and Theatre Studies

E:

I have taught Drama and Theatre Studies for over twenty years using a hands-on approach and inspiring students through my love of theatre. Having founded several theatre companies and toured extensively with plays that I have co-written, I bring to my teaching a wealth of experience that fires pupils’ imaginations and develops their creativity.

London's theatre land is vibrant and I take my students to see a myriad of plays. By experiencing first-hand how the various theatrical elements work together, students can see how the 'magic' is created, which always has a strong impact on them. I find it incredibly humbling watching students develop and reach their potential.

Prior to teaching A-Level and GCSE students, I ran the Cockpit Youth Theatre in Marylebone. Making theatre accessible to all has always been my aim. I also work with medical students helping them improve their communication skills and bedside manner, which I find incredibly rewarding.

Years ago I met my husband whilst running a company called 'Drama in Greece' and that is where I spend my summer holidays with family and friends.
