At Kensington Park School, the two-year A-Level programme is taught by subject specialists in our dedicated Sixth Form building on Queen’s Gate. Students choose from a broad range of academic subjects and prepare for university entry with specialist UCAS and career advisors. Every year, Kensington Park School students achieve outstanding results and go on to study at the most prestigious universities, including many in the Russell Group.

On the A-Level programme, students select three subjects for study; in some cases, a fourth may be added. Students can choose from a broad range of A-Level subjects, including humanities, mathematics, further mathematics, social sciences, art, photography, business, and economics. There is also an opportunity for students to add a non-examined elective subject such as Mandarin in order to help them access the programmes of study which we offer at Shanghai Jiao Tong University at the end of Lower Sixth.

Our separate Sixth Form building allows us to cultivate a specialist A Level teaching environment, where older students can focus on university entry while younger students receive teaching appropriate to their age range in the Lower School at Bark Place. Our sixth formers follow their own teaching timetable, with lessons of 60 minutes each (two hours for a double period), allowing them to explore their A Level subjects in the required depth.

The partnership between teacher, student and parent, both inside and outside of the classroom, is central to our ethos. Our unique approach combines the best elements of the established Sixth Form model with the characteristics of a college environment to help bridge the gap between school and university. Small class sizes help focus students’ learning in lessons that are delivered by some of the finest teachers in London, many of whom have gained considerable experience from time spent in some of the country’s most prestigious schools, with chief examiners and textbook authors among their number.
