Sports scholarships

At Kensington Park School, we are in a unique position to support pupils who are pursuing top sports or performance programmes alongside academic study. We offer such pupils the flexibility to work their studies around their sporting commitments, allowing them to train for 20+ hours a week as well as receiving a strong balanced education.

We are able to offer financial support by way of scholarship and additionally the freedom to remain with an existing coach/club or to join one of our partners. This academic year, Teagan Williams Stewart and Joe Donaghue are studying with us on our Fencing Programme. Teagan's current GB rankings are 1st GB Juniors and 1st GB Seniors. Joe has previously represented GB U19 and is currently training for the GB team selections.

KPS pupil Alexander Ahl, a very talented table tennis player, has recently signed a contract with Sweden to play in their third division league. He is currently No 12 in GB U18.

Adela Svihalkova is a biathlete with Olympic aspirations. Currently, she is No 1 in the Czech National Cup and is training for the upcoming Championship while enjoying the full use of our Biathlon Partnership Programme.

We have three pupils on our Ice Hockey Partnership Programme: Andrew Heath, Dylan Holicka and Tyler De La Bertouche. Hockey coaching takes place at Queens Skate, a five-minute walk from the lower school in Queensway, under the tutorship of Head Coach, Vid Jazbec, former Junior League player in Canada and former professional player for the Slovenian National Team in the European League.

Tennis Scholarships

In a new and unique partnership with Will to Win Tennis, Kensington Park School providethe solution to supporting the academic needs of the next generation’s rising young tennis stars.

Tennis scholarships are both financial and practical, assisting the committed and talented pupil who will be spending significant amounts of time developing their competitive tennis career in addition to pursuing their academic studies.

Tennis coaching takes place in two outstanding Will to Win London locations, but primarily in the spectacular setting of Will to Win Hyde Park. The courts are a short walk from the school.

Equestrian Scholarships

We have partnered with former international showjumper, John Sillett, to offer talented pupils who are developing their competitive equestrian profile coaching at Farley Hall Equestrian Centre in Berkshire.

The Equestrian Programme includes quality training with John Sillett, a BS UKCC Level 3 Coach and former international showjumper, as well as technical training in Showjumping and Show coaching.

Swimming Scholarships

As with all our sports scholarships, our swimming scholarships give competitive swimmers the flexibility to follow a demanding training schedule alongside academic study.

Pupils may also take advantage of the outstanding facilities at Ethos, the sports centre for Imperial College, via our pupil membership scheme. This includes access to the 25m swimming pool and gym facilities. There is also a 20m pool at Porchester Gate in Bayswater, within walking distance of the lower school, which our younger pupils have permission to use with their coach on the occasions when training has to fit more closely around academic lessons.

Sports Scholarships

We are able to support pupils who spend 20+ hours per week training in a competitive sport who wish to stay with their own club or coach.

We explore ways to make the best use of time during the day to combine study with a demanding training schedule.

The scholarship includes pupil membership of a local fitness centre, such as Ethos (the sports centre for Imperial College), as KPS recognises that dedicated athletes will often need to complement their sport through a personalised strength and conditioning programme.
