Last week our Year 10 Geography students explored Nine Elms, looking at the regeneration in the area. This is one of their Case Studies as part of their GCSE course.

Starting by looking at the transport hub at Vauxhall, students walked through the area identifying the recent signs of luxury development, from the tower of St George's Wharf to the now infamous floating swimming pool in Embassy Gardens.

We finished at the Battersea Power Station redevelopment. The building works were evident and the number of construction workers were evidence of the investment and jobs that had been brought to the area. The group were impressed by the number of high end shops and restaurant they saw in the Circus West Village. We made the most of the completed regeneration of the pier with a rest in the sun on the deck chairs over looking the River Thames.
