We are exceptionally proud of the high standard of artistic talent that exists within our school community, and our students’ artworks are proudly displayed throughout our school sites.

In our spacious, well-lit art studios, students can explore their creativity across a range of disciplines, including silk painting, photography, fashion, illustration, drawing, and fine art.

While many students choose art as an option at both GCSE and A level, our pupils also have opportunities to enjoy art recreationally. Our popular Art Club is open to all students wishing to develop their skills, and the department frequently coordinates with the school’s wider calendar of events in order to enrich and enhance our students’ learning. From Roman-inspired pottery workshops for our classicists; set, prop, and costume design with the Drama Club; or a Chinese New Year art competition with the Languages department, KPS students are encouraged to express their creativity in a variety of contexts.

Regular competitions and exhibitions, such as our annual Arts Week held in collaboration with the music and drama departments, give students valuable experience interacting and engaging with an audience about their work, and every year we support students with entries to the RA Young Artists’ Summer Show and the ISA National Art Competition.

With many of London’s world-class galleries and museums just a short walk or tube ride away, our art students enjoy unparalleled opportunities to observe and engage with a wealth of artistic styles and practices. This is particularly useful for our A level students, who are within walking distance of the V&A, Saatchi Gallery, and Serpentine Gallery, and benefit from regular timetabled trips and visits to local exhibitions to enhance their sketchbooks and provide inspiration for their studies.
