Joe's new training schedule is starting to translate into results, and last Sunday, Joe earned his first medal of the season. He fenced at the GB U17 cadet competition in Bristol, and he started off well by ranking 2nd in the poules. Joe went on to the semi-finals, where he fenced in a close match, unfortunately losing 15-13. That said, Joe's success in the competition as a whole secured him the bronze medal, and we would like to congratulate Joe on this success.  Joe also travelled to Budapest the weekend before, for what was to be an exciting event. Joe did well in the poules, ranking 3rd, but sadly went out early in the direct eliminations to a strong Italian, and ended up 66/285. In the team competition, Joe fenced with GBR1, with a good day full of great fencing. We wish him the best of luck for the three events that he will be taking part in before Christmas, which includes the Leon Paul senior open, the Cabries international and a London GB cadet competition.
