At the end of the Summer Term, a number of enrichment trips took place. Rewarding students for their hard work, positive behaviour, and commitment throughout the academic year. It’s also been a big focus for us to promote the social development, confidence, and teamwork students have beyond the classroom.
The trips gave students the chance to apply important soft skills in real-world settings and helped build meaningful connections with both staff and peers. Our end-of-year trip programme continues to play a valuable role in our wider strategy to support personal development, reward positive choices, and foster a strong sense of community.
Thorpe Park (Years 7, 8, 9 and 10) gave students the chance to step out of their comfort zones. For many, it was their first time on rollercoasters, a challenge that helped build confidence, bravery, and resilience in a fun, supportive setting.
Go-Karting (Years 8, 9 and 10) provided an exciting, high-adrenaline environment where students learned to manage nerves, follow instructions, and take responsibility for their actions. The group showed excellent maturity and teamwork throughout. Highlights included a fiercely competitive race for 1st place an unplanned pause to the event after Mr Mitchell crashed his kart, bringing the track to a temporary standstill!
Bowling (Year 9) encouraged strong peer support, healthy competition, and effective communication. Students celebrated each other’s successes and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship. Mr Rider bowled a near-perfect game, but the students kept up the pressure, with plenty of strikes and spirited competition throughout. The trip was a great example of success and confidence being nurtured in a non-academic setting.
