After a tense and prolonged period of trials that started seven months ago, the announcement finally came this week that all three of our pupils on the Kensington Park School Ice Hockey Programme have been selected to represent England in their respective age categories; Andy for the U13s and Tyler and Dylan for the U14 national team.  A total of twenty players were selected per age group, so this is a remarkable achievement for each of the boys, and even more so to have three England representatives attending the same school.

We look forward to watching the progress of the National teams as they compete in a European tournament in Finland in April later this year.

In addition, all three boys have made the South East Conference team (regional select team) with Dylan and Tyler in the U15s and Andy in the U13s.  Inter-conference tournaments take place in May, and the South East Conference will compete against other regions: South West, Midlands, North and Scotland.

It is a fantastic result that comes off the back of months of early morning training sessions, weekend competitions and training camps abroad.  Furthermore this result confirms Kensington Park School’s place on the map for sporting talent, and in particular for nurturing its aspiring young hockey players.
