Yesterday was World Toilet Day – a United Nations Observance that celebrates toilets and their role in safe communities, and raises awareness of the 4.2 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation. It is about taking action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.
Today KPS students discussed the dangers that not having a safe and clean toilet facility present to people around the world, and the health risks this can pose to people their own age in these countries. As part of our commitment to ensuring that KPS students grow as global citizens and understand the world around them, our assemblies focus on real- world issues such as these, and empower our students to take action and be involved in making a difference.
As part of our KPS CAN fundraising, we are aiming to raise as much money as possible to support the efforts of CAFOD and the UN in providing, clean and safe toilet facilities for communities across the world.
£85 can buy one community toilet- we are aiming raise at least enough for this and hopefully more!
From now until the 18th December we will be crowdfunding for this very important cause- any funds raised will be put towards the toilet(s) through CAFOD's webpage:
