On Tuesday 2nd November, KPS Netball team were able to play in their first competitive fixture since the COVID 19 pandemic. Most of Year 8 were able to participate in the fixture and we were able to put out two full U13 squads with three substitutes.
With only one court available, we decided to play both matches at once, alternating the teams on the court each quarter.

KPS Netball team was as follows:

Lea (Captain)
Olimpia
Stephanie
Lola
Jonathan (Captain)
Danel
Charlotte
Ridley
Danyal
Leo
Alex
Artin
Fadwa
Sherbano
Zahara
Hattie
Misha (Captain)

Match report:

The start of the game saw KPS take the first goal and hold the lead in the first quarter for the A team, swiftly followed by the B team. Maida Vale were able to catch up with a few goals to make the score tied for the A team’s second quarter.
Heading into the next quarter, the score stayed even until Maida Vale took the lead by one point at the end of the third.
Both teams were able to show off some outstanding teamwork, with both Jonathan and Misha controlling the pace of the ball down the court.
At the shooting end with Lea and Ridley, both students were able to work together smoothly to secure the A team’s next goal. Charlotte was rightly awarded the Opposition’s Player and Player’s Player of the Match as she scored her goals with calm and easy action.
Fantastic interceptions were made throughout by KPS and opportunities to score were rarely missed, thanks to Olimpia’s steady hands. Nothing seemed to get past our B team’s GK Leo, thanks to his incredible hand-eye coordination, denying the opposition’s GS the chance to shoot on multiple occasions.
Despite the lack of victories for both teams, the teamwork and support shown by all was outstanding. Every member of the squad should take great honour in knowing that they were able to proudly represent Kensington Park School.

Well done KPS Y8 Netball squad!
