University preparation and career guidance is an important focus at Kensington Park School Sixth Form.

At Kensington Park School, we support our students to make informed choices about their university and career options, and ensure they are in the best possible position to make competitive applications to the top UK universities, including those in the Russell Group, and to be successful students at undergraduate level.

Besides one-to-one support with applications to universities both in the UK and beyond, KPS holds regular careers events and lectures to prepare students for life after A-Levels.

Recent events include a Careers Day, with a Ministry of Defence cyber security expert and successful events management entrepreneur among the guest speakers; a lecture from the former Director of Harvard University’s International Office; and a talk by the Director of Marketing, Student Recruitment, and Admissions at SOAS, part of the University of London.

University Placement

Staff at KPS have a proven track record of success when it comes to placing students on the most competitive undergraduate degree courses at top universities.

Students are guided to make successful applications to their first choice degree courses through a combination of exceptional teaching, one-to-one UCAS advisory sessions, and specialist preparation programmes, particularly for those applying for Medicine, Oxbridge, or Ivy League entry. We maintain close relationships with admissions tutors at leading universities to ensure that we are up-to-date with entry requirements and important indicators such as application-to-place ratios. At the same time, we provide comprehensive interview training, including voice projection and body language coaching, recommendations on background reading, and mock interviews.

Guidance and Support for UCAS Preparation

Gaining entry to a top university requires more than just exceptional academic ability. Students need to stand out from the crowd and demonstrate a genuine interest in the subject they wish to study. Our tutors give specialist advice and support on the complex process of making a successful UCAS application, and prepare students not only for entry onto their chosen degree courses, but to be successful students at undergraduate level as well.

We believe that education goes beyond the academic sphere. Our A Level students are encouraged to develop as well-rounded individuals, as well as academic success stories, by taking advantage of the wide variety of co-curricular clubs and societies available in the Sixth Form.
